Study load
Study load or study intensity refers to how many units you study and whether you are a part-time or full-time student.
Undergraduate and graduate coursework programs
The number of units you are enrolled in in a semester or half year determines your study load. Enrolment in 18 or more units in a semester or half year qualifies as full-time enrolment. Enrolment in between 1 and 17 (inclusive) in a semester or half year qualifies you as a part-time student.
Normally 24 units per semester or half year is the maximum enrolment allowed. This is known as a 100% or full study load. As a requirement of student visas, international students are required to study a 100% study load.
Changing study load
Domestic undergraduate and graduate coursework students can adjust their study load by adding and dropping courses.
