Re-enrol or change your enrolment
Research students
Continuing research students will be automatically re-enrolled into their program. Research students should check ISIS in January of each year to ensure their enrolment is correct.
Undergraduate and graduate coursework students
Current and continuing coursework students must re-enrol themselves for each academic year by the appropriate deadline. Failure to meet the deadlines may have financial and academic consequences.
New students should follow the instructions for enrolling for the first time.
Enrolment for the 2013 academic year will open for continuing students on 4 December 2012.
Students who intend to enrol in first semester and/or second semester 2013 must enrol in at least one course in each semester by 25 January 2013.
Students who do not register their enrolment by 25 January will be charged a $125 administrative fee which must be paid before enrolment will be allowed. Once your initial enrolment has been registered, you will have until the Friday of the second week of first semester to finalise your first semester enrolment, and the Friday of the second week of second semester for second semester enrolment. Requests for changes after these dates may not be approved, and will incur a late fee of $50.
Students on approved program leave in first semester, returning in second semester, or who have not yet enrolled in any second semester courses, must register their enrolment for second semester by 21 June 2013. Students who do not register their enrolment by 21 June 2013 will be charged a $125 administrative fee which must be paid before enrolment will be allowed.
If you are intending to enrol in non-standard sessions (summer, autumn, winter or spring), you will need to enrol by the specific 'last day to enrol' date for each course. This date is available on the relevant course entry on the Study at ANU website.
To be fully enrolled, you will need to have
- completed your enrolment Task Wizard on ISIS
- registered your courses via ISIS
- completed any relevant forms as prompted by ISIS such as the electronic Commonwealth Assistance Form (eCAF)
Once you have completed the above, you should check that your enrolment and fee details are correct by logging into ISIS. You will need to check your enrolment is correct each time you enrol and whenever you change your enrolment. It is students' responsibility to ensure their recorded details are correct.
If you do not re-enrol, or apply for a leave of absence from your program, you will lose your place in your program. If you have lost your place in your program, and you wish to continue studying at ANU, you will need to re-apply to the University.
When to re-enrol
ISIS will open for 2013 enrolments on 4 December 2012.
Undergraduate and graduate coursework students must re-enrol by the following deadlines:
Whole academic year
25 January 2013
Second Semester only
21 June 2013
Non-standard sessions
Check Study at ANU for individual course enrolment dates
Failure to complete initial enrolment by the above deadlines will result in a late fee of $125.
Census dates
Course census dates are important dates because changes to course enrolment after the relevant census date will incur financial and academic penalties.
First semester
census date
31 March
Second semester
census date
31 August
Non-standard sessions
Check Study at ANU for individual course census dates
Non-award students (including students cross-institutionally enrolled from other institutions)
Continuing non-award students or students cross-institutionally enrolled from other institutions will need to complete the Application for Non-Award Re-Enrolment form (PDF, 389KB) and have it signed by the ANU College that delivers the courses. You will need to submit the form by 25 January 2013 for first semester courses and 21 June for second semester courses.
Cross-institutional students must also submit a supporting letter from the Registrar of their home institution advising that the courses you intend to undertake at the ANU have been approved by your home institution. The letter should also include the category of Commonwealth Assistance you are receiving (if applicable). If this letter is delayed, students should still submit their application form by the due date and submit the letter as soon as possible.
To be fully enrolled, you will need to have
- submitted your application form, signed by the ANU College approving your enrolment
- if you are a cross-institutional student you must submit a letter from your home institution
- completed the enrolment Task Wizard in ISIS.
It is very important that continuing students observe the enrolment deadlines. Failing to meet the re-enrolment deadline will result in a late fee of $125 and a service hold.
