Graduate coursework programs take you to the next level by deepening your knowledge and enhancing your understanding in a chosen field. Graduate students develop a practical and relevant skills-base based on the latest research critical to success in today's work environment.

Whether you want to climb the corporate ladder, gain a specialist qualification or just try something new, a graduate coursework degree from ANU offers a breadth of choice, a network of world experts and state-of-the-art facilities.

Graduate coursework leads to the awarding of a masters degree, a graduate diploma, or a graduate certificate. The major components of the program are attendance at lectures and tutorials, examinations, and submitting assessment items, such as essays and assignments. Some graduate coursework programs may also involve a research component, where students work with the assistance of supervisors on a more substantial research project.

Graduate coursework programs are offered across a wide range of subject areas. The range of subject areas we offer are aligned to our academic colleges.

Students will normally need to have graduated from an undergraduate degree (or equivalent) to gain entry to a graduate coursework program.

Graduate Studies Select

Graduate Studies Select (GSS) is a flexible graduate coursework option unique to ANU. It recognises that graduate students often have a range of professional and personal needs that may not be met by a program in a single academic discipline.

GSS increases the flexibility and choice available. The program allows students to structure their studies and direct their learning in a way which meets their academic, personal and professional interests, and enables them to develop skills and expertise in a range of learning areas.

GSS students will work with the University to select appropriate courses from across the University to create a program that ensures a breadth and depth of subject matter.
